High power, short duration

A typical full-sized vacuum cleaner draws between 1,000 and 1,440 watts. While this is a high wattage, most people only vacuum for 15 to 30 minutes at a time, once or twice a week. Therefore, the total electricity used per month is usually negligible.

Maintaining suction efficiency

A vacuum with a full bag or clogged filter has to work harder and may take longer to clean your floors. Keeping the filter clean and the brush roll clear of tangled hair ensures you get the job done quickly, saving both time and electricity.

Cordless vs. plug-in

Cordless stick vacuums use a battery that draws far fewer watts to charge compared to running a traditional upright vacuum. However, their lower power means they may not clean thick carpets as effectively as a plug-in model.
